Friends for Life Animal Rescue is dedicated to the homeless and stray animals living on the streets and in the deserts.  These animals do not have an advocate and will likely suffer starvation, illness, or injury as they try to survive alone.  Animals that are in the pound will not reproduce and are therefore not perpetuating an overpopulated animal community. Animals on the street are reproducing and creating even more unwanted animals. Friends for Life prefers to get to the source of the problem through spaying and neutering.  Our volunteers also work with feral cats - utilizing TNR (Trap/Neuter/Return) - a program Friends for Life has been maintaining since 1993. This program, Project HART, is a separate program funded by our generous supporters.

AVMA August 15 is Check the Chip Day

Make an appointment with your veterinarian/community clinic.

Microchips greatly increase the chances that pets will be reuinted with their families if they are lost or stolen…but a microchip only works if its registration information is accurate.

To remind pet owners to have their pets microchipped and to keep the registration information up-to-date, AVMA and the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) joined together to create “Check the Chip Day.” With support from HomeAgain, we've been able to develop additional materials to promote the event.

Dreamchaser Horse Rescue & Rehab Haul Us Hay

AZ and to MO
Dreamchaser was initially created to rescue mares and foals that were discarded by the Premarin drug industry. Since our inception, we have evolved to also rescue horses from neglect, abuse, abandonment and slaughter.   From AZ to MO.

We have taken in many animals since 2002, gentled, trained and re-homed as many as possible into qualified homes. The majority of our horses are totally wild (untouched by humans) when they arrive. We are one of the few facilities that can gentle and train a wild horse using common sense, time, gentleness, and patience. The average length of time a rescued horse spends at the ranch is one year.

Dreamchaser Horse Rescue and Rehabilitation is a non-profit rescue and adoption organization dedicated to rescuing mares, foals and other animals who are neglected and/or abused. The facility is located at the Dunrovin Horse Ranch in New River, Arizona.  Visit www.dreamchaserhorserescue.org

MCACC's Maricopa County Animal Care & Control's Pet Project program focuses on big and little (Petite Pet Projects) animals to help make them more adoptable. Our Petite Pet Project program is located inside, just through the lobby at our West Valley shelter in Phx.  https://www.facebook.com/PetProjectsMCACC/about/?entry_point=page_nav_about_item&tab=page_info

Many of these animals entered our shelter with fear or other socialization issues. Volunteers and staff work closely with these dogs to help them overcome these obstacles and go on to find forever homes. These dogs overcome so much and there are some AMAZING stories to share.

We hope you will help us promote this program and share our dogs looking for forever!

A Prayer for the Animals
~An Official Arizona Week for the Animals event~

Join  those of us who would like to observe a moment of prayer for the precious animals. We are requesting prayers from 5-6 pm Mountain time on Sunday, August 21st. This is a multi-faith observance.

We can offer prayers, poems and memorials to our animal or all animals wherever we are and light a candle by doing so.Wherever you are, if you can observe a moment for the animals who need us...that collective energy will surely grow and bring light to our cause to love, assist and help them from any and all suffering.
