White Tanks Regional Park
13025 N. White Tank Mountain Road
Waddell, AZ 85355

Join Maricopa County Park Rangers and Phoenix Zoo Outreach staff on a wild search to find out what desert animals have crossed our path. Come ready to learn and help investigate the clues that animals leave behind, go home an expert Critter Scene Investigator!

Can you crack the case?  If you've ever wanted to be a CSI - a Critter Scene Investigator - now is your chance!  We will start with a live animal presentation by the Phoenix Zoo that will get you ready for the adventure. Next you'll explore a secret area of the park looking for clues like bones, tracks, and scat. We will use our CSI skills to decide what elusive critter has been there. Who knows what will be around the next corner!

Upon completion, the kids will receive an official CSI kit and everyone will be entered into a raffle for some great prizes from Maricopa County Mountain Parks and the Phoenix Zoo. Appropriate for ages 7-12 years accompanied by caregiver(s). These venues also enable the groups the chance to educate the unknowing public about key issues, such as the need to spay and neuter pets as a means of reducing pet euthanasia.

As always, there are touching stories with some tears shed as a once-homeless lonely dog with his tail down walks off proudly with tail a waggin'! He knows he has been chosen. Come choose one of the loving pets who will be waiting for you. Visit http://www.pacc911.org/Adopt-A-Thons.html

Phoenix Animal Care Coalition (PACC911)
Laundry Program for Animal Shelters

Broadway Laundry
1845 E. Broadway Rd, Tempe.
SE Corner of McClintock & Broadway Rds.
Tempe, AZ   85282

To help the county shelter maintain a clean supply of linens for the homeless animals, the Phoenix Animal Care Coalition (PACC911) launched its Laundry Program and is seeking donations to keep it in operation.

PACC911 started the program, which will run through February, to help the county shelter provide clean towels and blankets to the animals sitting in wait at county facilities. The amount of laundry that accumulates made it near impossible for the county to keep up with, and as a result, animals often had to sleep on cold, hard concrete.

Through a partnership with local laundromat Broadway Laundry, PACC911 has arranged for 56 bags of laundry from the East Valley Animal Care and Control shelters to be picked up and washed on a monthly basis from November through February. Broadway Laundry will also donate 25 percent of any laundry services over $20 to the PACC911 program. Donations are critical to keep this program in operation. For every $25 donated, the donor will be entered to one of five gift cards from Starbucks, L’Amores, and Broadway Laundry, and several other prizes. To donate and learn more, visit www.PACC911.org. Checks can be mailed to 10645 N. Tatum Blvd., Ste. 200-516, Phoenix, 85028. Please use “Laundry” as the code in the memo line.

Ferret Workshop
Petco
1860 West Chandler Boulevard
Chandler, AZ 85224

Meet our Small Animal Care Specialist and learn about proper ferret care, nutrition, habitat set-up and more! We have answers to your pet questions. Though ferrets sleep more than most other domesticated animals, they are very active when awake and will seek to be released from their cage to get exercise and satisfy their abundant curiosity daily.

Ferrets are energetic, curious, interested in their surroundings, and often actively solicit play with humans, having a repertoire of behaviors both endearing and difficult for some humans.Play for a ferret will often involve hide-and-seek games.   They also have a strong nesting instinct and will repeatedly carry small objects or food to secluded locations. Ferrets will seemingly form attachments and will repeatedly seek out and "steal" the same object and bring it to their hiding place. For more info call (480) 792-6330

Faith Maloney of Best Friends is our special guest speaker for our upcoming fundraiser to benefit our new nonprofit spay/neuter clinic. This after-dinner champagne celebration features sumptuous fruits, decadent desserts, coffee creations, cash bar, silent auction and a string quartet playing live. Tickets are $65 – Tucson’s current average price for a "low-cost" spay/neuter surgery.

As a national Spay/Neuter Response Team member, we are developing a high-quality, high-volume, low-cost spay/neuter clinic based on the Humane Alliance model. We will serve shelters, sanctuaries, rescue groups and feral cat trap-neuter-return (TNR) efforts, and meet the needs of low-income families and other community members who might not  spay/neuter their dogs and cats because of accessibility and affordability obstacles.

The ultimate goal of increasing spay/neuter is decreasing animal shelter intake. More than 35,000 dogs and cats end up in Pima County animal shelters every year. Prevention is one of the keys to stopping this tragic situation. You can help us “Spay It Forward!”

Buddy Unchained description: What is life like, day after day, for a dog kept outdoors in all weather on a chain or a rope, alone all day—a dog whose owners, for the most part, forget that he’s alive? Buddy, a lovable mixed-breed dog, has had such an existence.

Happy in a new home, Buddy tells the story of his former life of neglect, abuse, and finally, rescue, to live a good life with a family that cares about him. Information is included for parents and other adults about good resources they can readily contact when they encounter a dog being abused. Very Special thanks to Glendale Library's awesome Susan Murray!
